The first garden in 2009 was a disaster of weeds and clay. Thanks to the internet and the many gardening books my research lead me to raised bed gardening and it's been a joy since. My family growing up always had a garden so when I married and moved to this home it was the natural thing to do. It's become a place of healing and better therapy then I ever imagined. It's constantly evolving and spreading and may soon include more of the front yard. Watch out neighbors!

Winter garden at 23 degrees
It's finally been in the twenties long enough to make the ground more crunchy and now it's ready for pruning back the strawberry plants. Hopefully now in second year will get a good crop of berries. But if I'm still not successful I'll scrap the bed and switch to a strawberry pot. Here's a walk through!

Love this! I love seeing your vegetables still growing at that temperature! We may need to skype sometime and you can share your plastic secrets. I have just implanted the idea of a green house into my hubby's brain so we'll see how that goes. My makeshift one isn't doing so well LOL.
