They are back and I've been squishing them over a week and now destroying eggs all over so decided better spray on some neem oil.
This is evidence I think of squash borer a different pest.
The first garden in 2009 was a disaster of weeds and clay. Thanks to the internet and the many gardening books my research lead me to raised bed gardening and it's been a joy since. My family growing up always had a garden so when I married and moved to this home it was the natural thing to do. It's become a place of healing and better therapy then I ever imagined. It's constantly evolving and spreading and may soon include more of the front yard. Watch out neighbors!

Oh no not the winter squash too!
Unfortunately I dug around the summer squash and I think I found the culprit. Squash bug.
If you aren't familiar with them by this name maybe you have heard of stink bugs. Yuck!
Apparently they prefer squash but can take out cucumber and melon as well. So there we have it.
